Arsenopyrite - Shangbao Mine, Leiyang, Hunan Province, China
A choice Small-Cabinet specimen having large, lustrous, euhedral arsenopyrite
crystals to 2 cm, with quartz, dolomite, and purple fluorite. This specimen
has two display faces; the front (shown in photo above) displays the arsenopyrite
crystals, while the back of the piece (shown in this
photo) displays more fluorite.
Some of the arsenopyrite crystals have rubbing or erosion, but it's difficult
to tell if this is of natural origin or whether it took place during extraction
of the specimen from the host rock.
Size of specimen is approximately 8 x 5 cm (3.1" x 2"). Ship. Wt. 1 lb.
