Hardystonite,  "Zinc-Schefferite", Willemite, & Calcite Pendant - Franklin, NJ.  30 x 22 mm Oval cab in a solid Sterling Silver setting.  Back of cab is unpolished.  Fluoresces beautiful colors in Short-wave UV (you need a special 'mineral lamp' that emits 254 nm;  ordinary "black light" won't work).
Hardystonite - blue-violet;
Willemite - green;
Calcite - red.
Zinc-Schefferite and / or Andradite - non fluorescent.

Chain sold separately.

Treatments:  None.

Origin:   Stone cut and polished in the USA.  The material was mined in Franklin, New Jersey. The mine closed in 1954.  Hardystonite is a calcium zinc silicate, one of the famous Franklin minerals which to this day has never been found in appreciable quantities anywhere else in the world.  "Zinc schefferite" is a varietal name for diopside from Franklin, especially the caramel-colored material.

Close inspection suggests some of the tan material is andradite garnet and some is zinc schefferite.  The hardystonite is ivory-white in daylight.

Another rare and exotic stone you're unlikely to find in a store.
