Amethyst (Quartz) - Thunder Bay, Ontario. Cluster of purple amethyst with some iron oxides. Size is approx. 3 inches across maximum dimension, with xtls to as much as 1 inch max. Nice display piece!

Azurite. Franklin, New Jersey. A thin coating of blue azurite on the typical fl. calcite matrix with dense franklinite. Azurite is very uncommon from either Franklin or Sterling Hill.

Calcite with Scheelite and Fluorite - Hunan province, China.
Beautiful CAB size display specimen of many sparkling calcite
crystals. It is hard to appreciate them unless the specimen is seen in
real life where it can be rotated in the light.The
many, tiny scheelite crystals fluoresce brilliant blue in short-wave UV
(shown in right-hand photo), while the calcite has a very pale
yellowish response. The fluorite crystals are visible with a hand lens
but do not appear to fluoresce. Size: about 5 inches across longest
diagonal, 4 inches wide x 3 1/2 inches tall. Calcite crystals to

Chrysocolla with Malachite - Kalukuluku Mine, Congo. Botryoidal blue chrysocolla with some green xtls of malachite.

Copper - Franklin, New Jersey. Native copper with green willemite and a pale tan mineral that resembles serpentine or perhaps ganophyllite. There is also of course franklinite. There is a minor amount of a purple mineral that resembles hodgkinsonite (third photo).
Franklin native coppers like this don't come up too often on the market.
Size: the copper is about 4" long x 1 1/2" wide. The "ore" chunk on the end is about 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 1 3/4".

Copper on Prehnite - Osceola #13 Mine, Houghton
County,
Michigan. Small xtls of copper on green prehnite. As with most of these
we've seen, specimen has likely been acid etched to expose the copper,
which at one time was embedded in calcite. A couple of the copper xtls
are fairly well formed, with some definite xtl faces evident at 10x
mag. Overall specimen size is about 2 1/2 inches across largest dimension.

Fluorite, Sphalerite, & Galena on Dolomite - Lime Crest Quarry, Sparta, New Jersey. Closed locality, now underwater. Specimen was found years ago in a Mississippi Valley Type (MVT) deposit that was in the quarry. Good specimen of purple fluorite from New Jersey.
This is a large specimen with good coverage of fluorite. There are also moderate amounts of SW FL hydrozincite on lower front face.
Size: approx. 5 1/2" x 4 3/4" x 3 1/2".

Galena - Sterling Hill, Ogdensburg, New Jersey. Quite a rich specimen for this locality. The beige / tan layer on top of the galena is probably cerussite.
