The MiniVID® is a special type of digital camera for your microscope. It goes in the eyepiece tube of the microscope and transmits the picture to your computer (USB version) or VCR / television (RCA version) by way of a cable. This makes the Mini-VID very useful in classroom situations or other places where it's desirable to have everyone see the subject at once. The MiniVID uses the latest in CCD camera technology to bring you unparalleled quality for its size and price. The MiniVID eyepiece camera has an adapter ring that lets it fit in both 23 and 30 mm eyepiece tubes, the two standard sizes. USB version allows viewing of specimens on a computer screen. Requires a USB port and Windows 98 or better. Includes viewing software. We recommend Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, or other image-editing software (not included) to do the actual screen capture. RCA version for plugging into the "video in" (RCA-type) jack of a VCR or a television... so you can make video recordings of what's under the microscope. The RCA version is lower-priced than the USB and has lower resoluton. Though it lacks the software of the USB version, your TV and/or VCR should have adjustments (e.g., color, brightness) that will allow some fine-tuning ofthe picture.
