* The vapors of concentrated hydrogen-haloacids, ammonia, etc. seem to be able to diffuse through most plastics, given sufficient time.  It is best to store concentrated HCl, HBr, and HI in glass bottles, and to store concentrated HF in bottles specifically designed for it (not glass!!!)

** Be careful storing highly odorous liquids in plastic bottles.  Small amounts of vapor will inevitably diffuse through the plastic walls of the bottle. This is of course slower at reduced temperatures.
